If your Halloween passed with handing out a few sweets, (money), to kids, (teenagers), who were going to play a trick on you, (scratch your car), then this may be the way to bring the 'real' feeling of Halloween back.
 
The M6 motorway has been voted the country's most haunted road by motorists who were polled by Tarmac.

People traveling on the M6 have reported seeing phantom Roman soldiers, ghosts and a lorry driving against the flow of the traffic on the road.

Platt Lane in Manchester was also cited as one of Britain's spookiest roads, being voted third in the chart, with drivers saying they have seen eyes watching them, (dogging) from nearby bushes.

The A9 in Scotland was voted in at second after a family saw a horse and carriage walking by.

One woman claims to have been alerted to an out of control car by a guardian angel while she drove along the B4293 in Wales.

"We compiled the top ten on the basis of the clarity of sightings rather than just the number of spooky experiences," said Tony Simmons, sightings co-ordinator for Tarmac.

"At this time of year it's easy to mistake swirling mist for something more sinister and we wanted to make sure we were listing truly spooky sightings."

Other scary roads to avoid this Halloween are Suffield Road in Great Yarmouth, Gloucester Drive in Finsbury Park, the B3312 in Cornwall, the B1403 in Doncaster and Drews Lane in Birmingham.
