Fabio Wrecks Ferrari
« on: April 14, 2009, 02:25:23 PM »
Another entry in the "Celebrity Prat Trashes Exotic" file:

Male model Fabio (Lanzoni) has trashed a $300,000 Ferrari 599 Scaglietti on the legendary Mulholland Drive, the twisting two-lane road that runs along the Hollywood Hills. It winds its way up to a reservoir and is a truly great drive! The car belonged to World Class Driving.

In what has to be one of the greatest understatements I've ever heard, a statement from World Class Driving said, "We are not very proud of the fact that Fabio wrecked our car."

just over 20 years ago Wayne Gretzky was becoming the best hockey player in history.  He wanted to use his new found fortune to buy a Ferrari (who wouldn't, right?).  The owner of his hockey team forbade him from buying one until he had taken a course on driving high end sports cars.

Similarly, when Nissan introduced the 350Z the purchase included driving lessons for a car with a 50-50 balance, since most people stepping up to nice cars aren't aware how different they behave.
