The Stig Revieled!
« on: June 22, 2009, 02:56:43 PM »
It's happened The Stig has been unmasked (or, maybe, unhelmeted)

I think I've seen this guy somewhere.

That was one of the best bits of TV I have seen in a long time. I watch very little TV but Top Gear is a program I never miss (it and Fringe). I have to say I was more than excited to see the stig unmasked, but what a surprise when it was the king himself, even if it was for comedy effect and the real stig still remains a mystery. Poor interview, but what a lap in the Ferrari FXX.

Talking of comedy effect, this is how the Stig makes the girls go all weak at the knees.

The lap of the Ferrari FXX was amazing, see below:

And the identity of the real stig still remains a mystery. Phew! I thought my secret was out!  ::)

I'd rather watch a 3 year old child interview someone than Clarkson. He's awful :(

I'm with you there Neil, he's no Parkie but the show wouldn't be the same without the big gipe. The only interview with Schumi I think I have seen on normal UK TV and Clarkson talks a load of s**t.

Top Gear is the only tv programme that I ever put myself out to watch, I reckon it's the greatest, the three of them gel like naughty schoolboys, ans as for Clarkson, Neil, He's a beer swilling, fag smoking petrol head, in other words he's a star.

Top Gear only works so well because of the 3 presenters, you have James May, boring as dry white toast, but he adds some sense and reason to the show.  Richard Hammond, well simply put, he is the comic relief sidekick type of character.  Jeremy Clarkson, well, he is the antagonist, but brutally honest.

With 3 such varied roles, viewpoints and appeals you are sure to like at least 1 of them and continue watching the show.  Australia has tried it's version of Top Gear and it's absolutely terrible because they have tried to copy the dynamic of the original.  I personally like all 3 together, because of the constant bickering and boy club jokes they play, it makes the show enjoyable, light hearted and also shows that any car fan is just a big kid who hasn't forgotten how to live.

As always this is just my opinion and I could be wrong.

I like the way the threesome works on Top Gear as well, Clarkson although great would be just a bit too much without the others to take the mickey out of him and keep him a little embarrassed & humble on occasions.

I would add that the Stig is like the respected older brother to this gang of schoolboy pranksters, they all look up to him for his superlicence and for having driving abilities well beyond theirs.

 Long may Top Gear continue.

Too bad our Stig doesn't come around much anymore...he was always great for inside news.  I sometimes wonder if he doesn't work within one of the teams.

Funny you mention that Scotty the Wiz mentioned in
