Apologies for absence
« on: July 03, 2009, 01:48:45 PM »
Sorry I've been away so long but we've been up to our eyeballs trying to get the car right for last Sunday's meeting, and also in my case organising absolutely everything for the 8 car team. I know that as team manager it's my job, so I suppose it's no excuse.

Unfortunately we are now even busier because although Josh's car was absolutely balistic in both qualifying and the race, etty serious engine fire just 2 laps from home which not only resulted in a DNF but also quite a bit of work and expence.

The net result of all this is that I can't see myself spending much time on forums for the next few weeks. We are due for the 3rd round of the championship in Italy at the end of July, and right now we are still waiting for our new engine. Let's hope we get it in time.

Thanks Scotty for phoning. We had just settled down to some serious testing at the circuit. Josh poled 1.2 seconds quicker than he did at the same circuit 3 months ago, so clearly our mods had worked. Pity about the breather problem.

Here's a pic of Josh bailing out in a hurry.

Thanks for the update, JB. I remember what it was like trying to keep a racecar on the grid. I hope Josh wasn't harmed in the fire.

No, he's fine, just working his ass off to try and get it ready in time.

I know you're from the USA; we have just bought 2 engines from a bike dealer in South Carolina. One's a 2009 Kawasaki ZZR1400, to replace the 07 unit that's now scrap.

The only consolation is that a) we know what caused the problem and b) the 09 engine gives more power and torque.

Still we could well have done without the hassle. Thanks for your concern anyway.

Good to have you back JB.  :good:

I'm sure we can all understand that your racing comes first. To quote Mr McQueen - Racing is life, everything else is just waiting.
