Brawn joins McLaren in bidding for Rosberg

John S:

At least one driver on the grid is in demand! Looks pretty certain now that Nico will be leaving Williams at the end of the season.

The championship-leading Brawn team has reportedly made an offer to German driver Nico Rosberg for next season.

But the current Williams driver is more likely to become the first German to drive a works Mercedes since 1955, according to Bild newspaper. McLaren Mercedes is aiming to replace Lewis Hamilton's current team-mate Heikki Kovalainen with Rosberg beginning next year.

"It looks good that I can go where I want to go. But I haven't decided yet," he is quoted as saying.

McLaren does have some competition for his services however with Bild reporting that both Williams as well as Brawn are keen to sign up Rosberg for 2010.

He said at Spa Francorchamps last weekend that he wants to have a contract for next year signed within the next few weeks.

Dare:
I thought Brawn said he was happy with his present
drivers?Come to think of t didn't Mallya say Fisi
wasn't going anywhere.

Scott:
Regardless of his present form, I don't think Brawn will forgive Rubens for his outbursts.  I think he is gone.  F1 Racing is also predicting retirement for him.

david1275:
I really hope Rosberg doesn't end up at McLaren. Brawn might offer better chance for him to shine, but in my view he should stay where he is.

Chris Borg:
I would love to see Nico at McLaren.
