BMW to launch F1.07 in January
« on: November 27, 2006, 10:03:36 PM »

BMW Sauber will kick-start their 2007 campaign in Valencia, Spain on January 16th, as they unveil their 2007 challenger, the F1.07 at 09.00 local time. 2007 will be the second year for the current team, after a buyout of the Sauber team in late 2005.

Along with drivers Nick Heidfeld, Robert Kubica and Sebastian Vettel, BMW Sauber Technical staff, including BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen, Technical Director Willy Rampf and Peter Sauber will all be present at the launch.

“We came up with the initial ideas for the new car in May 2006,“ reveals Theissen, “And the aerodynamics department in Hinwil has been concentrating on the development work for next year's F1.07 Since August. While the bulk of the design work began in Hinwil's design department in September.“

BMW Sauber are only the second team to announce the launch of their 2007 machine, with McLaren set to unveil their MP4-23 just a day earlier at the same venue.
