Schu voted Man of the Year
« on: November 30, 2006, 02:12:09 AM »
The seven-time world champion polled a massive 54 per cent of the 46,937 fans votes from around the world in the magazine’s annual awards - which thousands of you voted for via ITV-F1.com - with double world champion Fernando Alonso way back on 21 per cent.

And despite losing out to the Spaniard in his pursuit for an eighth crown, the retired legend also beat the Spaniard to the Driver of the Year title after an inspired 16th and final season in the sport.

Jenson Button won the Drive of the Year title for his stunning performance in claiming his first career victory in the rain in Hungary, while BMW sensation Robert Kubica was voted Rookie of the Year.

Other categories in the prestigious worldwide vote included Car of the Year, Overtaking Move of the Year and Qualifier of the Year.
