Webber enjoys Red Bull debut
« on: November 30, 2006, 02:16:50 AM »
On Tuesday Mark Webber joined Red Bull Racing for his first outing in the RB06. At Circuit de Catalunya, near Barcelona (Spain), he joined his new team-mate David Coulthard.

It was good to be driving again and nice to see so many familiar faces in the team," said Webber. Webber will be racing with the team in 2007 after a disappointing season at Williams.

Red Bull Racing concentrated mainly on getting used to the Bridgestone tyres. Webber already raced with Bridgestone tyres at Williams, but according to Red Bull Racing's chief test engineer, Ian Morgan, it doesn't give much of an advantage. "The tyres are Bridgestones, but they are a different spec to the ones used this season. In fact, today and the next few tests are all about developing an understanding of these new tyres and adapting the car to suit their haracteristics."

Webber's first outing was interrupted by a couple of minor problems, while Coulthard got through his entire programme.
