Why Bernie's medal plans would be stupid!

According to this, Button would be champion under Bernie's proposed rules.  He could just coast from here on in.

I love when the championship goes to the final, I've also seen how that when things wrap up early, the late season races can far more interesting as the midfield teams fight for position, and the top teams lose the number one/number two and let the racers take crazy risks.

well I agree with bernie in trying to make wins more important but disagree a medal system is the right way to do it.

isn't the existing points system the one developed to limit Herr michael SCHUMACHER?

he is no longer racing so why has this system continued?

time to make the winner get double the points of second and ensure all finishers [say 95% race distance] get at least one point and give some reward for all the money and effort required to even be on the grid.  8)  :good:  :good:  :good:  :-*

I think this exact scenario was put forward to show why the medal system should not be used.  Do not get me wrong, I want Button to win it, but his form for the second half of the season (and of his car) has been inconsistent and not really worthy of such a dominant victory.  Now he and his team have to grind out results and there is the excitement of seeing Rubens actually challenge him.

I think that's just what he is doing anyway -  or rather a controlled slide to the WDC!  :D :DD :DD :DD
