Willis poised for Formula 1 return with Sauber
« on: October 01, 2009, 12:16:49 PM »

If this is true yet another of the past F1 acheivers will be back influencing events on the grid. Looks like 2010 could be an very interesting season to look forward to.

By Jonathan Noble, today, Autosport

Former Red Bull technical director Geoff Willis is set to return to Formula 1 with the Qadbak-owned team next year.

Willis left Red Bull in July this year, but he is believed to be poised to return to the sport with the new owners of the BMW Sauber team.

BMW boss Mario Theissen, however, would not comment on the reports.

"I cannot comment on speculation," he said. "The situation is that the current management team runs the team until the end of the season by then we expect direction and discussions with the new owner. Then we will see what we can do."

The Qadbak-owned team is yet to secure its place on the grid for next season, having been granted a provisional 14th slot.
