Chevy is bringing back the Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle. It's a longer wheelbase, Chevy badged version of the Pontiac G8. According to a Chevy spokesperson, the car will be sold only in a police version. There are no plans at this time to sell a version of the Caprice to the public. An undercover package will be available.

OK, let's see if I understand this. You're only going to sell it to cops, but if you paint it a different color maybe the bad guys won't notice? 

This is the kind of thinking that got GM where it is today!

Sounds like standard government procedure there mate.... it's the same the world over... because the public and crims will never see through that sort of trickery....

Ah Ha! - but the crafty buggers might dress it up in the livery of an out of county police vehicle so the villains will think it has no jurisdiction in their town.      

          I'm still not sure how they can use it for a stakeout though
