It's just a game, but I think it is a draw for the site too.  If it is easier or more fun for late comers to join, I think all the better.  An easy way would be to hand out the lowest scores from each race already run to any latecomers...that way they would at least start from the back, and nobody should have a complaint.

I think the bonus question is a great idea though.

The rules changes have made it a little more tricky this
year or for me anyway. The first year we had the gg you
could just about count on Mclaren and Ferrari having both
cars in the points every race.

Giving a set amount of points for missed races wouldnt
be fair for who knows that may have been your week for
a stinker and we all have one[at least]ask Rom about
Brazil ;)

I see your point Scotty, but we don't want people just coming in for the prizes do we. Some names you only see now when there's a prize to be won.

what about a huge bonus for a preseason Correct choice of Champion?
if its substantial (15, 20?)  then a new person would not be able to get that, where as his 'gift' points would keep him above zero.
in addition, its a nice pre season starter package for the rest of us :)

I'll be there for next year as this makes the racing a personel involvement.
As I said before!!
If it aint broke dont fix it!!! :good:

The FIA and Co change the rules enough to mix it up so no need for change here. :nono:

How about a point for guessing the car running in last place when the flag falls?

Could add a bit of fun, we could call it "Wooden Wheels"

How about an extra 5 or 10 points (given at the end) if we choose the WDC before the first race of the season?  An extra 5 for WCC?  Might give us more incentive to actively follow pre-season testing and other developements.

I think we should have a team based contest as well to fully replicate F1, randomly assign players a partner to give it a team based element.  Could be quite fun as you get to spend the season with one person encouraging them etc, discussing tactics as well as focusing on your own challenge for the title!
