Toyota's Out
« on: November 04, 2009, 10:26:12 PM »
After 8 troublesome seasons Toyota has announced today that they will follow in the footsteps of Honda and pull the plug on there formula 1 program. Personally i dont know what to think about this, it is sad to see any team go, but i dont think they will very missed

being an old-timer, at first glance i'm happy about this.
well not happy in that i had anything against Toyota, but in the same vein as Honda and BMW leaving, and now Renault in emergency meetings.... i think part of the whole escalation of costs is due to the big manufacturers wanting to gain fame and be known as champs.. or at least Ferrari beaters :P

but the Privateers is what has always made F1 interesting to me.  So i'm hopeful that as the big money leaves, the racing will actually improve.

yes i'm also in favor of removing the wings and making the tires harder... wings are for airplanes, and harder tires does 2 things, reduces the 'marbles' - thereby widening the racing lines, and second making drivers DRIVE - instead of being sucked to the tarmac thru the turns -

off topic sorry..... i'm not sad to see Toyota leave ~
but hoping Kobyashi gets hired but someone
