McLaren To Be Sold ??

Ron Dennis has hinted that the remaining 60 per cent of McLaren could soon be sold to the Woking based team's engine partner, Mercedes-Benz.

Reports earlier in 2006 suggested that the Briton and Mansour Ojjeh had already agreed to the estimated $400m buyout at a meeting in Hockenheim.

Mercedes bought 40 per cent of Dennis' team in 1999, and remains the only carmaker in pitlane without total ownership of its formula one foray.

"If an opportunity presents itself and can make McLaren better, it is supported by its management and I embrace it," the 59-year-old told the British magazine Motorsport News.

Dennis added: "But I would never endorse a simple exit strategy.

"We have some really exciting programmes outside our formula one team and want the company to grow."
