My Holiday on the Moon
« on: November 22, 2009, 07:58:51 PM »
You may have noticed a slight increase in sad jokes and posts about weird and unusual products/stories. This can only mean one thing - I'm back from my holiday!  :yahoo:

It was my first trip to Egypt and will probably be my last. Our 5* hotel (which was really a 3* hotel in disguise), was located in the middle of nowhere and with the rocky views and lack of life I could well have been on the Moon. Still, Mrs Wiz and I love to people watch so we always had a really good laugh at the rest of the guests, as they probably did at us. It's great to be back and I'm pleased to see you all behaved yourselves, although the toilet doesn't flush in the west wing and there is an unexplained stain in the library??

Plus Points
Outstanding weather
Large clean room
Relaxing and laughing
Drinking

Minus Points
Rude staff/people
Cattle market attitude at dinner time
Repetitive food
No dress code (I'm English for goodness sake!)
Flies

Sharm el Shrek (that's what my son called it)?

Been there, gotta agree about most things.  Being Canadian, I am glad there's no dress code as our typical dress code is 'No Shirts, No Shoes, No Service'...pants of course being totally optional.

We didn't notice so many flies, but maybe it was a bit different in January, the month that we went.

I should think that at your age Wizzo you'd have learnt to do your own flies up.  :DD

Hmmm, I thought you was going to own up to the mysterious stain Ian. Not to worry, Perkins will be running a DNA test as soon as he's finished unblocking the toilet.

I'll find out who was responsible.  :P

Glad to have you back Wizzo.

By the way, what's a "Dress Code?" The closest we get to that around here is that some of the really fancy places make you leave your gun outside.

I was at a beach bar one time that had a sign:

MEN:

No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service

WOMEN:

No Shirt, No Shoes, Free Beer!
