Red Light and Counting
« on: December 01, 2009, 06:39:57 PM »
No one enjoys sitting at a red light.  As you sit there you get to contemplate all kinds of things.  Like wondering how much of your life has been wasted waiting on stoplights.  Then you notice you’ve been sitting there a good long while and begin to wonder if the light will ever change.  Then comes the agitation and impatience.   >:(

Well instead of wondering how long you’ll be at that ridiculous light, you could know exactly how much time you have left if only your town would install these Eko Stoplights. It shows you just how much time you have left by counting down.

The idea being if you know how much time you have then you could shut off your engine to reduce the amount of gas you’re burning up while you’re sitting still.

Personally I’m just excited at the idea of sitting on the starting grid waiting for the lights to change.

Yeah and perhaps they can play Fleetwood Mac's 'The chain' at Pelican crossings instead of those stupid beeps. - Gentlemen Start your Engines.   :yahoo: :yahoo:

It seems like a good idea.

However, I still see a lot of idiots go when the light turns green, without looking for other idiots running the red light.  (Right of way is meaningless if you're going to drive right into an accident!)

People will use the count down as an 'advance green', and start going before it's safe.

I use red lights to smooch my hubby.  (Bonus points when my daughter goes, 'ewwww stop that!')

That would make the old traffic light racing a bit more interesting. :yahoo:

you mean you all actually stop at red lights
