Title: GPW Get Together at Goodwood?
Post by: Scott on March 29, 2018, 10:04:51 PM
To see how much interest there would be...no commitment necessary, just if you would be interested in going if the dates worked out, or I find you have preference of one event over another...indicate if you already have plans to attend one of them.

Would love to go to either, but alas, the distance is too great and the bank account too small.   :'(

Alas, my answer is unfortunately similar to lkjohnson1950 above!!

Over here in Western Canada and put a fair dent in our bank account after a necessary 6 week trip to Scotland a couple of years back.

Sorry!  :(

Priorities, priorities  ;) ;)

Kinda figured this would be mostly interesting to the UK members.  But in case you suddenly win a jackpot...

I can't go to the festival of speed but the revival is a possibility.

Like Lonny, I'd love to but there's a bit too much water between here & there.

I asked Lewis H if I could rent his private jet, but he was having none of it!!!! (I'd likely stink it out with Maple Syrup and Canadian bacon for the 1st leg of the trip, then Fish 'n' Chips and a good old Fry Up for the 2nd leg of the trip).

I'm sure he would be concerned which Engine Mode I used also!  :P

All the best,
Cal :)

Unfortunately I am not able to get to Goodwood as I would need a) more money and b) some method of getting there I can practically use (I rely on public transport and am not good at spotting when to get off buses if in unfamiliar territory. The "easiest" way to Goodwood involves three buses and a substantial additional walk, and the alternatives require four changes).

I'd love to do the Revival but out of the question unless lady lottery smiles on me.

As far as possibilities go - FoS is a no go, Revival would be possible

At the moment it is about CH90.- for me to fly in for the Revival, so quite cheap.  I'm still interested if I have company.  Would anyone be staying down in the area for a couple of nights that would want to share an AirBnb or something?  I would be alone most likely (my son might join me, but it would be last minute based on his school schedule which at the moment is unknown for Sept).
