Title: Verstappen takes aim at ‘keyboard warriors’
Post by: Monty on January 07, 2019, 10:55:24 AM
I think he might be talking about me  :D
Perhaps instead of dismissing what people are saying he should try to take on-board some of the constructive criticism.
At the moment he is protected by being Marko's 'golden boy'  but if he takes out another team mate, or loses more points due to his rash, arrogant driving he could quickly lose this privileged position.

The GP Wizard Army have mobilised and will retaliate should they be fired upon by Mad Max.

Max is going to stick with what got him here.  I can't say I blame him for ignoring the 'keyboard warriors':  we all know that no matter what you do these days, there's someone out there who's going to tell you what you've done wrong.

He's not a cookie cutter F1 driver, which is good, but he find his shelf life limited if he's known more for antics and less for winning.  Of course, as long as he's known for filling grandstands and moving merchandise, he'll have a home in F1.

He's a bigger moron than I thought if he wants to "take aim" at online criticism.  He will be humiliated and shot down so fast his head will be spinning.  There is only one way to deal with trolls and online bullies...ignore them.  The rest are probably full of valid criticism, which he apparently can't handle.

In some ways I don't like Max because he can be arrogant and petulant but don't all the greats have a little of these traits?? However you look at it, he makes F1 more exciting to watch and certainly seems to scare some drivers, ie Vettel,  and if Honda can produce a decent engine he could ruffle a few feathers at the front  :D

I have just looked deep into my crystal ball ... I think Mad Max and Growling Gasly will have some fun in 2019.  Max may miss Danny Ric sometime soon, time will tell.

Wonder if 2019 will dish up those poetic words ...  "Pierre, let Max through, he is faster than you ... please confirm!!".

Best Regards,
Cal :)

I totally disagree. Max never misses anyone. He hits them every time.   ;)

I think this has been part of the Verstappen strategy from the year dot. I'm less worried about him ignoring us than I am about him ignoring everyone who has a different opinion to him (including his boss), provided Helmut Marko remains happy. He also knows there's nothing anyone can do about his "golden boy" status unless someone else catches Helmut's eye - and on that day, nothing Max can do will save his status. Therefore he has no incentive, from a power perspective, to change his ways.A pity he doesn't seem sufficiently bothered about his competitive performance...
