Another piece of the 2014 drivers puzzle has fallen into place. Pastor Maldonado will be moving to Lotus. The team was thought to be waiting for money from Quantum Motorsports to sign Hulkenberg. Lacking that, the team has gone for the PDVSA funding that comes with Maldonado.

Now let's see how these two compete together, my money's on Pastor getting the upper hand by seasons end. ;)
- Now isn't that a surprise. :D

I really didn't want to hear this.I'm probably
wrong[as usual]but I pick Grosjean to put
Pastor in his place

If I were a team owner would I have either of them? Maldonado only got the seat by paying his way in and his comments about Williams show what type of person he is. Grosjean has been a big improvement for the second part of the season but I'm still not convinced although? I have been known to be wrong. Often!!

I'll put mine on Romain...what's the bet? :P

I bet Lotus are a bit gutted too. I got a feeling (otherwise known as a blind hunch on which I really shouldn't lay any cash) Lotus will have a very decent car next year, but it's Rising Star Romain for me all the way.

I. too, think that Grosjean is the better driver. That said, Maldonado will be the teams #1 based on the Prime Directive of F1:
Money talks!

I don't think Williams has too much to complain about, effectively PDVSA will be bankrolling two teams this coming season, I'm sure Frank settled on a rather large wedge as compensation for them cancelling their 3 year contract. ;)
When anyone is departing from a team it can always feel like the normal ups and downs have more meaning or cause, really depends how sour the relationship becomes. I seem to recall one Fernando Alonso sticking the knife in over Stepneygate, to assist the FIA and Ferrari, against McLaren - for whom he was driving at the time, but had fallen out of love with.

I was an Alonso fan until that whole mess. Kind of soured me on him.
