Post by: Calman on February 17, 2019, 06:14:32 AM
"This Time Next Year Month ... We'll Be"

Okay, so I went for a classic Only Fools & Horses line, but in all seriousness, can you believe that this time next month, we will have just finished enjoying the Australian GP?

It's come around quickly this year ... and I am not complaining one little bit.

Bring in on.

Best Regards,
Cal :)

Alonsofan, can I see your license and registration please!!! ... step out of the car, turn around and put your left hand behind your head!!!  :DD

Seriously though, the 'sadist' thing about you English thrashing our Scottish lads at Rugby, is that you are wasting some serous drinking time, just to throw an odd shaped piece of rubber around a grassy field!!!

Now that I've got that off my chest, where did I put my beer?

Best Regards,
Cal :)

Just wondering Cal what the time difference is for Canada to Australia.  :DntKnw:

The reason I ask is The race starts at 5.10am UK time on Sunday, March 17. Now with the best will in the world I'm not sure how much Beer, and possibly food, I can get through in the early hours around dawn.
I'll go along with the rest though.  :D

John, there are many different time zones in both countries, from our far west location to Melbourne in Australia is 17 hours (currently 18hrs with time savings).   There are essentially 5ス time zones in Canada.

Cal :)

I will be watching the F1 when Dad is available to watch it with me. We certainly can't see it until Channel 4 screens it, and there will be races where Dad's sailing takes priority (given that there are probably 2 races this year we will be able to watch live - the British and the Hungarian - it is less relevant when the others are watched provided I remain spoiler-free. Which I can be with enough good reading).

I知 not sure if I will get much sympathy here, but for the first time in years I won稚 be able to be online or watch the first race live.  I値l be in a ski chalet for the weekend with some friends.  It値l be tough, but somehow I値l survive the weekend  ;)

Plenty of sympathy coming your way from my camp! ... while everyone is watching F1 in a nice warm location, I will be thinking about you Scott >

Hey Cal just thinking about time difference from Aus to N. America, most of you lot watching this weekend race start live will actually be viewing it on Saturday eve rather than Sunday. Will China be the same?  :DntKnw:

Also of course in Aus and parts of Asia some race starts later in the season will be on the day after, Monday.  :swoon:

That's about the size of it John!

We are 8 hours behind Blighty ... so over here in Western Canada (Pacific Standard Time - PST), I typically watch the Australian GP later on Sunday (local time).  I enjoyed the experience back in Scotland, as I worked 12pm > 8pm, so I could handle grabbing a power nap, watching the race live and head into work.  Yes, I was a little draggy when arriving home from work, but my hours allowed it - worked for me!  :good:

Nowadays, I avoid spoilers on the web like the plague!!! ... I had one website send me a promo email, which released the winner of the race in the subject line - needless to say, the air was BLUE that day!!

Best Regards,
Cal :)
