Post by: Dare on November 27, 2007, 01:18:25 AM
Maybe someone can help.I have 4 slots for ram, does it matter
what 2 slots I install 2 gig's of ram.Would it work if you
installed the ram in any slots at random or must it be in
a certain order

thanks for any help

Dare, it depends on whether it's linked or not........ (I am using non-technical terms for this)...... basically if you look on the motherboard near the slots you should see: DIMM0 DIMM1 DIMM 2 DIMM 3....... DIMM 0 and DIMM 1 are the slots that you should insert your ram into... but it they are paired ram slots then you will only have slots 0 and slots 1..... so then you should insert your ram into slots 0

Just send me an e-mail if you have any major difficulties.... or even a picture/model of the motherboard and I can get a diagram and show you the correct slots mate.

I personally would use 2 x 1GB modules...... that way you can still expand upward.....

The ram is always installed sequentially..... and if they are paired the sequence would be bank 0 and bank 1......
