Title: Define a "Role model"?
Post by: Andy B on October 16, 2023, 09:26:36 PM
It seems LH is to have his Qatar infringement of crossing live track re-assed due to him being a "Role Model" so the FIA say but this is something new and in my opinion unjustified as it has already been dealt with.
So who else is classified as an F1 Role Model?
FA, MV and if so what rules do they come under that are different to any other F1 driver?
If they are to start looking back and re-assessing incident they could be opening a can of worms!
It's  been done and dusted so let it be!

I'm hoping the 'further investigation' is just Hamilton speaking out about track side safety.  A few PSAs, a few appearances at karting events talking about how dangerous it is to do what he did.

I think that would accomplish more than any fine, penalty points and reprimands.

As for 'role model status'... seems weird.  I'd think all F1 drivers are role models to young racers.  If the FIA needs to create a 'role model status' though... my argument would be a win or compete for three seasons.  And I don't mind the idea of holding 'role models' to a higher standard when it comes to how they conduct themselves, if 'role model' is defined clearly.
