I think the intro now is abysmal, bring back 'The Chain' that's F1, it ain't now.

I kinda agree Ian, but I had to get a Now TV box to get F1 and SKY haven't used the chain at all on their coverage. 'The Chain' now seems like Tyrell and Lotus to me, things we love from F1's past. :(
Still get goose bumps if I hear it though. :yahoo:

Okay guys.
What do you mean the "Chain"?

This is what we are on about Willy, the iconic F1 intro music first introduced on BBC coverage way back when.
Dum - Dum, dida Dum, - Dum dida, Dum etc, etc - ad infinitum

The music comes from 2/3rds the way thru 'The Chain' a song by Fleetwood Mac.

The bass guitar at the beginning always made me think of the tension on the grid, then the frantic guitar is the off.

Ah...ok, I know the song well and the album it comes from.
Being in Canada I have never seen the BBC opening to F1 coverage so did not understand.

Both the BBC and Sky bid for the rights to "The Chain" last year, but neither bid high enough, apparently. So they do recognise that this isn't what fans want, they just cannot provide it. (That both channels insist on exclusivity is not helping matters).
