Set In New Zealand the Brokenwood Mysteries really are up ther with the best.
Check out the one set in an old psyhciatric home, the writers have really gone to town and it's par excellence - IMHO.  :D

Don't know how you can view it in states but it's well worth the effort Dare.

Relaxing Andy??? These shows are meant to get the little grey cells working overtime.

Just one question though Andy, does everyone in NZ treat the police in such a lacka·dai·si·cal off hand manner as they do in Brokenwood?

In the US it's on Acorn streaming network. I love the women on the show, Fern Sutherland and Cristina Serban Ionda. They play quirky characters and do it well.

I have Acorn. I "ll check it out John. I recently watched the
last season of Doc Martin and I watch Murdock Mystery's.

I also recently watched the series Mystery Road set in Australia.

Ah that Oz 'Mystery Road' series was sure a dark but worthwhile journey Dare, I really enjoyed it.  :good:

I'm sure you'll love Brokenwood, there's quite a few series to get your teeth into.

There was a prequel Mystery Road series and 2 movies as well. I
was surprised at how the Aborigine's were treated.

I also watched a UK series Innocent that stared George Gentry's
sidekick.

Did you ever see the final shows of Detective Montalbano  that you
turned me on years ago? The last season was made after the writer and director had died and wasn't up to par. It was time to end it

Hey Dare, if you have Acorn, try My Life is Murder or Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries

One of our area PBS stations Brokenwood Mysteries. I liked it, especially the Kiwi country music in it. They also ran Miss Fisher. I fell in love with her Hispano Suisa touring car.  :good:

I tried Miss Fisher MM and couldn't get into it. I mainly got
Acorn for Doc Martin and Murdock Mysteries.

Trouble is I have Peacock, Paramount+, and Hulu. Too much to
watch and too little time. I do like the new Sylvester Stallone series
Tulsa Kings

It depends on the individual and how bad you are/have been!
I have a mate whose a cop and in reality they are just doing a job and what would life be like without them.
When I'm out on the motorcycle I'll often get waves from cops as long as you're behaving! LOL
If we are in a cafe they'll always stop and chat and sometimes join us but it'll be quite different with patched gang members.
