Title: Goodwood Festival of Speed
Post by: Steven Roy on July 03, 2008, 11:04:41 AM
The FOS is next weekend 11-13th July.  Is anyone from here planning a visit.  I have tickets for the Sunday.  I have been a couple of times before but the last time must have been about 5 years ago.  I have never been on the Sunday though so I guess it must be the busiest day when all the big names turn up.

I am really looking forward to the ten hour drive down.  :(

It is the day with the biggest names - but beware, Lewis is there on that day, which means that the crowds around him will be horrendous.

I've never been, I don't know why, I just never seem to get around to going.  :(

Take some pictures for us Steven.  :good:

I never take a camera to motor racing events.  I used to take one to race meetings but I spent so much time and effort producing terrible pictures that I never knew what was going on in the races.  So I stopped taking a camera in the mid 80s.

Never been.  I have been a couple of times and it is absolutely awesomely fabulous.  I have to drive ten hours to get there.  You have no excuse.

Sorry to revive this, it is an awesome event to go to, although I think theoretical is better. I spent one Sunday there as a spectator and had a brilliant day. The following year I sent the weekend there as a marshall.  Only a crowd marshall, as I wasn't qualified as a track marshall, but I was stationed at the track crossing. A couple of highlights of the day was sending Quinten Wilson in the complete wrong direction, this was an accident as it was in the first morning and I never had a site map. The other was meeting Jack Bramham when he strolled over and asked my permission to cross the track, a brilliant brilliant weekend.
