Title: Valtteri doesn't want handouts

I can't blame him - Mercedes maybe not a happy ship underneath it all.

I don’t think any racer wants a win gifted to them, especially if has no impact on their ability to win a championship.  I think if he wants a promise, it’s probably to not have to move over again.

Sorry Valtteri if you had done much better in previous qualis & races this situation of being moved over may never have arisen.  >:(
Your playing with the big boys now, either step up your game or man up about the consequence.

Let's hope if they do swap the cars over in Bottas favour in later race they manage it better than Russia, try calling the 2nd car in first for pitstop, at least it has the illusion of racing.  ;)

While I agree that racers want to race and win on their own merits, and that in a close championship battles teammates need to understand they are expected to make sacrifices, we also need to note that the record book only counts cold hard facts.

Bottas earned a win in 2018, and there's no way for him to get it, unless someone hands it to him.  Nobody wants to see that, except Bottas's agent for negotiating purposes, and his grand kids who can show that their family has a rich racing heritage.

Maybe Bottas remembers the 2002 U.S.G.P. at Indianapolis. It was the next to last race of the year & Schumacher had the WDC in his pocket. He swung wide on the last turn and gave the win to Rubens Barrichello. It was repayment for Rubens giving Schumi a win earlier in the year. Pretty much the same situation as this.

It was a disaster for all concerned. Schumi caught flak, Rubino was accused of taking a handout & the fans thought the race was fixed.

That's OK, Valterri, I doubt you'll be getting any handouts for a while...
