Goodbye "Sauber" ....
Looks like another team will be wearing a new badge this season.

And enjoying a bigger budget, rumour says FIAT will fund it with 100m in sponsorship this year instead of 50m last. :swoon:
I guess after BMW gave up Peter used to dream of funding like that. ;)

Indeed John,
I read (not long after) that the expected budget should become approximately double ... so on the back of their progress in 2018, let's hope they can work towards a mid field level of competitiveness.
Best Regards,
Cal :)

Mid field Calman??? ::) Kimi wont be looking for that. ;)

If Kimi can win a race in an Alfa ... and leave Lewis & Seb scratching their heads, I would be VERY happy (if not only to hear another MWAH on the podium).
Best Regards,

Raikkonen won't win a race in a B spec Ferrari, sorry Alfa Romeo, because Ferrari won't allow that to happen. More to the point, the car won't be fast enough to give him a chance, so barring a freak weather result, such as Italy 2008, you're not going to see a Ferrari customer car win a Grand Prix.
This is the latest nail in the coffin for Formula 1 being a competitive sport between different teams. The grid is effectively now comprised of four Mercedes (Mercedes and Racing Point/Force India), four Red Bulls (Red Bull and Toro Rosso), and six Ferraris (Ferrari, Haas, and Alfa Romeo). In my opinion, this is both depressing and unacceptable. If Formula 1 is supposed to be about competition between 10-13 different teams, which is what I thought it was meant to be, it is failing abysmally.

Alfa will be Ferrari with a different name; Torro Rosso will be Red Bull Racing by a different name and one of them will become Honda Racing at some time in the future; so what will Mercedes do to have a second team? Call Williams 'Smart' racing :DD

On the basis of 2018, that's an insult to Smart cars!
