Good PR,bet he hated every minute of it

Good on him! It's always a good idea to make friends with the folks you might need to push you out of the sand. ;)

I miss drivers getting back in the race after a push start from the marshalls

Love it:)

I have a friend who is a VERY proud Englishman and a few years back, I asked him what he thought about Lewis Hamilton. His answer was "...he will be okay now that he has had his PR training!".
Mind you, you can pretend to like someone who is throwing a few cans of beer around a campsite ... okay, it was Carling, so maybe just a little bit of 'likeability' :DD
I didn't even witness a single red vehicle come close to his van!!! :(
Best Regards,
Cal :)

:DD :DD :DD
Not sure Seb would be well received in that area, - Kimi now would get the same reception as Lewis. ;)

Don't you Brits have some kind of thing about "white van men?"

OH YES!!! ... White Van Man is quite the cult, so don't dabble in the dark art of enquiring about such things!!! :DD
Mind you, I enjoyed being White Van Man in 2016, when I hired an Arnold Clark Toyota Pro Ace to travel around the UK for six weeks.
All the best,
Cal :)

I put almost 300,000 miles on my trusty white E-150 (until a dump truck took it out.) I'd have another but Ford only makes minivans now. :'(
-
Don't like these?

They look better in White Lonny. ;)
Well they must do as nearly half of Essex is driving one or something like it. :D

Bloated minivan. No frame, McFlimsy struts, teeny tiny V6. It wouldn't last me 6 months.

:DD :DD

They are taller amd might come in handy for
people in construction. Me I like pickups

I can't speak for other parts of Canada or the US, but there has definitely been a significant shift from the typical North American looking vehicles to British/Europe style "vans" in the trades. Of course, there are still a lot of F150's, Rams, Tacoma's, GMC's, Titans etc out there, but it's clear to see that "van like" vehicles are becoming more popular in our area. Anything from a Berlingo to typical Transit Van, they are out there!!
This is the van I drove around Scotland and Northern England back in 2015 - the new model looks more of a "Bruiser" ... but I liked this van. Great comfortable ride, lots of storage (especially above cab up front) and fairly nippy on motorways - only thing I didn't like was the fall-away bonnet, second guessed myself a couple of times when parking in tight car parks.
Best Regards,
Cal :)

This thread is the essence of why I love this community....a thread which starts around Lewis Hamilton ends up discussing the merits of vans.
Marvellous GPW :good: :good: :good:

Well, being that the van I hired was mainly for Camping purposes, we could easily change the theme of the topic into Camping, where with a bit of luck, we could come full circle and discuss Camping at race venues? :DD :DD :DD :DD |-( |-( |-( |-(
It has to be better than discussing Sewing, Opera or Rare Horse Brasses???
Best Regards,
Cal :)

Not a true Opera singer but I'll take
Sarah Brightman

Maria Callas is not a true opera singer??? :swoon: :swoon:

Maria Callas is not a true opera singer??? :swoon: :swoon:
read again,I was speaking of Sarah B. She's more Broadwaybut
she can sing anything.
-
Ahhh! My bad. I too like Sarah B.
-
Aargh!!! C'mon Dare that's like trying to compare F1 champions from different eras. :fool:
But if I have to I'll plump for what I think would be 'white van man's' choice, it would be :-
Pavarotti followed by the 3 tenners (that's the only way to spell it in Essex). ;)
Then the bird from "I Lost My Heart to a Starship Trooper" song - Sara Brightman. :D
They're the only ones 'van man' will have heard of. :DD :DD :DD

P.S. Pavarotti for me, :good: I'm half 'van man' too. ;)
-
I like it John and I agree with Pavarotti. Lanzo was under rated
I think because of the movies he made
-
Can you imagine if this topic was shared in social media circles and Lewis H had access to it via his timeline feed etc? ... he wouldn't have a clue what is going on!!! :DD :DD :DD :DD :DD
Speaking of Sarah Brightman, she still looks good at 57y/o !! (she could sing me to sleep any day - that came out wrong! :stop:)
Best Regards,
Cal :)

Let's get serious here and back on topic I heard Lewis was spotted at the campsite
spotted at campsite driving a white van listening to a Maria Callas cd. Who'd have thought that
