Title: First look at 2021 F1 car shape. FIA release video of wind-tunnel model.
Post by: John S on August 22, 2019, 03:39:42 PM
According to the wind-tunnel analysis, 2021 cars will lose just 10% downforce when following another.
Current cars lose as much as half of their downforce when in the wake of another.

Ground-effect aerodynamics is hoped to keep speeds high without producing turbulence, with further tweaks set to follow – particularly to front wing designs.

Good find, John!   :good:

As the clip suggested toward the end, I too wonder what will happen when the team designers get their hands on it.

I know aero is much more advanced today, but the last generation of Ground Effects cars were able to pass each other. I have some hope.
