Title: Tata Picks the Wrong Name for New Car
Post by: cosworth151 on February 04, 2016, 03:36:05 PM
Tata is going to change the name of it's new model, the Tata Zica. Shortly after the announcement of the new car, the outbreak of zika virus started. It has now been declared an international health emergency by The World Health Organization.

There is no word what the new name will be. One hopes it won't be the Tata Bubonic.

Reminds me of the urban legend about how the Chevy Nova wouldn't sell in Spanish speaking countries because 'Nova' sounds like Spanish for 'won't go'.

Or more recently the Buick LaCrosse had to be renamed in Canada because in Quebec 'LaCrosse' is slang for... enjoying one's self.
