Title: French GP Preview
Post by: cosworth151 on May 06, 2017, 01:01:26 PM
Next year's French Grand Prix will be held at Circuit Paul Ricard. If you want a preview of sorts of the circuit, the Hankook 24 Hour Series is racing there right now. Here's the live stream:

I still find this track difficult to watch with all the options and the striped run-offs.

The paved runoff areas are huge. They market the circuit for use as a test track. The massive runoffs are to minimize the chance of someone pranging a test car.

Early in this race, a Renault had to limp back to the pits with a loose wheel. The Radio LeMans commentary crew were laughing about how much distance the driver could cut off by short cutting the runoffs.
