Title: Grid Girls Return!

Grid Girls will return to F1! (For Monaco, anyway).

Michel Boeri, the top dog of the Monaco GP, says that they will have Grid Girls at their race.

"They'll be there on the grid, but (they) won't be holding any nameboards. They'll at least be communication hostesses.

"They're beautiful, and the cameras will be on them once again.

"Our American friends assume it hurts female feelings, but our hostesses go to modeling and PR schools, and they're paid well. Why in the world should I stop 30 women from earning a living?"

I guess the Racing Rug Rats Grid Kids will be holding the signs. I wonder if anyone has checked into possible violations of child labor laws.

Also, the Russian GP is talking about having Grid Girls, too.

Good on Michel, nobody forces females to be grid girls, by what right does Liberty Media presume to stop them earning a living.

Norah is getting warmed up, just in case the British GP reinstate Grid Girls!!  (or a backup position of Debris Sweeper).

I've said before Liberty Media are hypocrites as once they stopped Grid Girls they should have disbanded the cheerleaders of the US football team they own who were at the U.S. GP last year and wore far less than most Grid Girls.
Ian is also correct that the girls who do it come from all walks of life and do it by choice and these days of liberation why should those who do not want to do it protest against those who do!
As I'm sure you can tell I am not impressed with Liberty Media and expected a different stance from Ross Brawn.

I am right there with you on that aspect.   I think Ross has become a "muted member" of LM's 3 Musks ... and you know that it was one of LM's better ideas to hang onto Ross, as they know diddly squat about F1.

I have to be honest here and say that I enjoy the freedom to discuss LM here on GPW, as I have had minor issues on other forums, where the slightest criticism of LM ... well, I have been shot down at 20 paces!!! (and unfortunately, the racism card has been played).

Really?  Someone from their head office or a member of Chase’s family??  Who would get all worked up about FOM criticism?   |-(
