Title: Alonso not on RBR's radar...
Post by: Scott on August 09, 2018, 06:52:48 PM
Why?  Why throw out such a stupid comment like that Horner?  From a team who employs the biggest drama queen of the past two seasons, you have to slag off Alonso, who has behaved better than anyone on the grid considering what he has been up against.

I somehow doubt Alonso would follow Honda anyhow.

Maybe they think he's a jinx.   :DntKnw:

In any case, I think he's had more than enough of the Honda lumps.

I don’t.  I agree with Alia that there is simply no way Marko would cede any kind of power like that to a driver.  I’m not even sure there have been drivers in the modern age, aside from Schumacher, who had that kind of power...just rumors, I think.

Horner seems very rattled after losing his best driver for next season.  ;)

Agree with that Luke. I'm excited for next season seeing Daniel and Max pitted against each other with no team dynamic to think about.

I don't know for sure but I'd guess Vettel's contractual arrangement might come close.  :P

I suppose we both don't know for sure, but I think Ferrari probably had enough hassles when they ceded that power to Schumacher.  I doubt they would ever do it again.  When Vettel moved to Ferrari I don't think he had a strong enough bargaining position to ask for that, or he would have had to give up a big chunk of compensation in return.

I think some of Kimi's results are proof in the pudding
something is up. Some of his radio comments back it up

No, we were talking about veto power over the choice of teammates.  Team orders have nothing to do with that.

Team orders are allowed now, and it is simply a matter of math for a team to at some point to decide to throw their support to one driver to give them the biggest chance at the championship.  Ferrari didn’t ask Kimi to support Vettel until it was clear that Kimi would have a much harder time to compete against Hamilton.

I see nothing wrong there.
