Title: Plot thickens over Tracing Point F1 car, model & show car tossed in mix
Post by: John S on August 17, 2020, 04:13:25 PM
RP had wind tunnel model and show car to work from says Kolles, - is he for real or is this just more smoke being blown because he hates Toto?

Dangerous can of worms to open one way or another as Kolles may be calling Toto or Merc's reputation into question. We could end up with more than one court case over the 'Tracing Point' affair.

Where is the benefit for Merc to do this?
I cannot see any at all so why would they?  :DntKnw:

I wouldn't consider Kolles to be a really trustworthy source.

On the other hand, we've all seen high priced used F1 bits & piece for sale on line and wondered who would pay those ultra-high prices.  ;)

You don't think the board at Daimler would like to see a customer team beat Ferrari, or maybe even RBR?

I'm not suggesting that it would go that high up, but if Daimler is rumbling about quitting F1, producing some good results might keep some F1 employees employed.

With the fact it would have been against the rules and Merc would be penalised if caught it would hurt the brand which is more important to a company like Merc.
