A commemorative statue was unveiled today at the Technology Centre on the 50th anniversary of the death of founder Bruce McLaren.
Bruce died on June 2, 1970, while testing one of his Can-Am racing cars at the Goodwood Circuit.
A life-size bronze figure has been created by painter and sculptor Paul Oz, who previously produced the sculpture of Senna, also at the McLaren Technology Centre.

Years ago there was supposed to be a movie
about Bruce. Too bad it wasn't made

I've always had a special admiration for the driver/designer/innovator/builders like McLaren & Gurney. Sadly, it seems that era is long gone.
Maybe the success of Ford vs Ferrari will kick start the idea of a McLaren film. I hope so. I think it would make a great film.
Here's the famous Spa drivers meeting scene from Grand Prix with Bruce, Dan Gurney, Richie Ginther & so many others.

How much of a budget cap would we need to return F1 teams to being 1 man teams? :tease:
