Title: Error message
Post by: Ian on August 21, 2012, 08:13:14 PM
Any ideas anyone, all of a sudden, when I log onto GPWiz on Google Chrome I get this message and it recurs on anything I click onto.

Error. A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error ocurred during the login process. (provider: TCP Provider, error:0- An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.)

I'm baffled, not a clue what it means.

I saw this today Ian but only on one PC, as soon as I changed computers the problem went away.

I'm working on it, just click OK for the time being.

It happened to me once in FireFox Mozilla I use, but I thought it was just a random internet problem, but I guess it was not..

But what I did was to reboot the computer, and it was not there..

Might give a try people..

Reboot does'nt clear it, I'll just click on ok and ignore it.

It's happening to me too Ian, :'( every new page it comes up so having to click ok time and time again.

I had it yesterday but thought it was just me having more probs like not being able to quote or modify. I've still got the quote/modify problem but I've found if I ask for the function to be opened in a seperate window, then close the seperate window that comes up with the 'no can do' message I can use the function as normal on the original page. Not ideal - but hey it allows me to join in fully.

One of my sons has told me my probs are connected to internet explorer and the changes Microsoft are making, it seems lower versions of explorer are not getting the access support anymore to websites.  :DntKnw: Anyone know anymore?

Oh! - and I always get the session timed out message when I click to post,  ::) works on second click though.  Good job I'm not pressed for time with all this extra clicking.  :D

I'm now having to click off two error messages each page.    :'(

I'm off to go shopping  :swoon: - anything's got to be easier than GPWizard at the moment.  :'(

It's working fine on my Firefox. I had the same error messages for a short while about 24 hours ago, but no problems since then.

Do you mean Explorer or is IE something else?

I'm on Explorer and there certainly is a problem for me.

Guys,

I think the problem happening in some browsers but not others could just be because it's intermittent. I get the error in IE, Firefox and Chrome. I have rebooted the server but still no good. The hosting company have been contacted to see if they have shed any light on it. I am wondering whether they have upgraded the MySQL version?!?

Will keep you updated....

Maybe this is a clue, my laptop runs WIN XP and does not have the problem, my desktop runs WIN 7 and has it.

Now I'm getting an error message in XP, saying the remote host has forcibly severed the connection. It lists several reasons why this might have happened, but if you click OK it loads correctly.

:yahoo: :yahoo: No more error messages on Explorer either.  :yahoo: :yahoo:

Wizzo and Slugs are the best.  :yahoo: :yahoo:

Unfortunately the other probs, I alone seem to be experiencing, with quote/modify button still present. Ah well at least I can click away reading, and making, other posts without any trouble. - thanks guys.  :good:

Darn it,  :fool:  forgot the session timed out trap waiting for me when I went to post this. Still what's a few more clicks to keep in touch with my buddies.  ;)

Great work guys... I only suffered the problem with my work laptop... the home pc remained problem free, both running win 7 64bit with IE 9....

And to whomever is in my neck of the woods (part of the world), enjoy my home country, it truly is awesome... and if you get to Brisbane, drop me a line, I'd love to meet someone from here....

Half my friends and family seem to be on their way to the land of plenty Rom. Perhaps one day I will follow.  ;)

After much investigation Slugger informed me that one of the advertising banners was causing the error! The advertising companies can change the pictures/code of the ads at will and something must have gone wrong.

Thanks for your help as always Slugs.  :good:
