Either that kid has the smarts, or he's got great management. Only a few days after Caterham goes south, he's grinning with a new race seat. Way to go Marcus! I hope Sauber gets its act together next year, maybe with some new sponsorship and makes its way back to a strong mid-pack season.

Not great talent or good management but buckets full of cash, :swoon: it's reported that Ericsson can bring as much as $18m in sponsorship with him. - That probably even outbids Gutierrez' Mexican backers.
Ever wondered why there was never a suggestion that Marcus would sit out a Friday practice or give up his race seat like Kobi at Caterham ................ Big bags of money means you call the shots in F1. :D

I agree with a lot of that John, but I will add one caveat. Ericsson did improve a huge amount in the last two races he drove this season after the braking system was changed. I know that he's still primarily in Formula 1 for his cash, but at least he looked a lot better than he did for much of the season. Also, it's not as though Sauber's drivers this year have been very impressive.
