They forgot the “Getting home up the hill” test, which is an important criteria for me. 

Seriously, I have changed my tires winter-summer since my early 20’s, and have never had an accident in the winter due to conditions (in fact to date I have only been hit, never hit anything myself except a post in a parking garage that took off a mirror and a moose when I was 19).
