Title: Ferrari's F1-inspired green supercar
Post by: Wizzo on January 16, 2008, 10:40:17 AM
Ferrari says that its experience in Formula One racing has enabled it to make the most environmentally-friendly supercar ever.

It is a little known fact that Formula One’s technical regulations demand that petrol with 5.75 per cent biomass-derived content must be used, while the American Le Mans Series use fuels with ten per cent ethanol.

Now Ferrari has developed a road car based on the F430 Spider that is powered by biofuel E85 just like several mass-produced mainstream models already on sale in the UK.

The green Italian stallion is on display at this month’s motor show in North America, where Ferrari sells most of its cars.

The biggest single sales area in the world is California where there are increasingly strict laws controlling emissions and Ferrari is anxious to comply in order to maintain its sales growth there.
