Today, 29 April 2014, marks the 115th anniversary of the birth of Edward Kennedy Ellington, better know as Duke. I was lucky enough to see the Duke Ellington Orchestra on what turned out to be one of Duke's last tours with it. He's still the greatest musician I ever saw.
