Title: Sam Michael Leaves McLaren

Sam Michael will leave his post as Sporting Director at McLaren at the end of the season. Micheal was previously with Williams, Jordan & Lotus.

Good luck hasn't exactly followed Michael around...I wonder if it really is on good terms or if he was asked to resign.

I really hope Mclaren has a brilliant master plan because the way things are going with the Alonso signing (or not signing) and the team possibly letting both current drivers go, and now this...well, it doesn't all look very well planned out or very professional.  I hope they make all the announcements they need to for next year at Austin.

Sam was recruited by Martin Whitmarsh and the long term plan was that he would replace Martin in time as the Team principal. When Martin was ousted and Boullier brought in as Ron's man there was effectively no career path for Martin's Protégé, so Sam gave a season's notice to quit. We have not heard of any disharmony amongst the ranks all season so I guess Sam is still on good terms with everyone at McLaren, else I'm sure He would have gone much sooner.
