Title: New 2019 F1 frontwing revealed on Williams & Force India at Hungary test
Post by: John S on July 31, 2018, 11:18:17 AM
Guess we'll have to wait and see if it spices up the races, certainly looks more complicated than the simple front wing we were promised.
But then F1 guys' idea of simple is taking the original concept and then multiplying it by "pi" squared for fun. :D

More complicated than expected, yeah, but compared to this year's, they're incredibly basic.  I much prefer them visually.

Will the William's go fast enough to test the new wings? Just wondering

The Force India wing looks like a great place to put an advert for a multi-blade razor.

Just remove them all together or would the prospect of having to
drive the car be too much for the top drivers in the world

It is possible to do. The support series, like F2 & F3, seem to have it figured out. The trouble is how to write the rules without making the cars too "spec racer."

I'd like to see a little more of a 'trade off' approach.  Like you can have  a big front wing or a big back wing, but not both.  It would produce a variety of cars that are best in different situations/tracks, a ton of loopholes that the designers love and variety in cars so they look different in more than their paint job.
