Title: New Rio circuit

I know little can be understood from such a simple drawing but one obvious thing leaps off the page - huge run-off areas! Yet again it will be a circuit where drivers will make ludicrous overtake attempts and simply miss the corner. At the moment I fear that this will be another Tilke track that true enthusiasts will hate!

I share your dismay Monty, however I think the paved over run off areas are more to do with need for multi-discipline tracks, Motor bikes need the hard standing run offs.

I'm keen to find out if there is much elevation change around the track, nothing like Paddock Hill up to druids or Eau Rouge to get the adrenaline going.  ;)

Unfortunately with large sums of money invested on new circuit projects regular use is a requirement, they just can't afford to build old school tracks - gravel traps and intimidating walled sections, et al - that will only see action a few times a year.
