Title: As fast as an F1 car?
Post by: Wizzo on June 14, 2006, 09:47:21 PM
Bugatti claims that the Veyron can accelerate as fast as a Formula 1 car in a straight line.

Adam Towler, staffwriter at Autocar went to VW’s famous Ehra Lessien test track in Germany to verify the claim. On test, the Bugatti hurled from 30 to 50mph in less than a second (Lamborghini Gallardo takes two seconds) – and that was it – Adam was convinced.

Adam writes: I’m ashamed to say I swore involuntarily at this point, purely as a reflex response to what was happening. I have never, ever felt acceleration like this – not in a plane, a train and certainly not in any automobile.

For the Veyron, distance is just a game – it can go 70-100mph in two seconds flat. Moreover, after a time of only 2.8sec the Veyron had already accelerated 60mph.

Well I'm sorry but he's just stupid the Veyron weighs the same as a small moon and has just under 1000bhp, last year rumhours had it that Honda's F1 car was kicking out more than 1000bhp and weighed 600kg. It don't take Carol Vorderman to do the sums.
