I don't really understand Horner's relationship with Vettel post RBR, but doesn't he have a fabulous girlfriend who should keep him busy every moment between races? Why bother stirring up things. There is no apparent fact behind his comments, just a funny feeling he has. Thanks for that Christian.
Realistically I can't imagine a driver wanting to commit to anything in 2018 until they see how the engine formula in 2017 shakes out among the teams. Maybe Mercedes will blow it, and have a dog for the next few years. It would kind of suck to have signed a contract so early.

Scotty I feel the clue to Horner's motives are in these two quotes from the TJ13 piece:-
“I can well imagine in 2018 Seb will switch to Mercedes". keyword - imagine. Suggesting Horner has no inside track.
"And I’m not sure whether he likes the current pressure from Sergio Marchionne (Ferrari president)." keywords - pressure, and Marchionne. If both in Ferrari camp do not deny it the media circus may well keep picking at it like a sore over the coming months.
Remember RBR & Ferrari are in a close fight for 2nd place in the championship, any psychological ploy is fair game from Christian's point of view.
