At the top of Boyd's website, it says:

Where ever there are clouds in heaven, we'll know it's you teaching God how to do a great burnout.

I grew up building models of the customizers of the 50's & 60"s: George Barris, Darryl Starbird, Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, the Alexander Brothers. Back in the 60's they used to have a big custom car show up in Columbus every January. It was one of the high points of the year for me. I've always been interested in just about every facet of the motoring hobby.

I guess becoming a fan of the next generation of customizers like Coddington and Chip Foose was to be expected. Foose, of course, started off working for Coddington.

Everybody's opinion is welcome here. Of course, there will usually be a little good-natured kidding about them, too. That's what friends are for. ::)

I have never been a fan of the Pimp my ride brigade, I reckon it's the male version of collecting and dressing Barbie dolls or collecting designer handbags. :tease:

I have never been keen on trainspotting or stamp collecting either, but all of these activities have large followings so each to their own.

However, I can still sympathise with fellow members when an admired and respected innovator in the street racing world passes away.

I thought you would have loved this topic from the creative point of view,as you are renevating an M.G.
I wish you could have watched the series ,and then you might have some love of the subject. This is NOT PIMP MY RIDE!

Take a Look of what he created:

Now you're talking. I've been the proud driver of the Triumph TR6 and Spitfire , plus a GT6 and Vitesse in their day, but sadly the XJ6 has escaped my best efforts Dare.

Mind you more recently I have been able to borrow a nearly new XJ8 sport from my daughter's partner when they were abroad for a month.

Dare, what are you doing in an XJ6?. No vision behind, because of the built in blind spots....Out of all the Jags i think it was the worst one they came up with.

Hope the boyfriend gets an XGS then you would be a proud Father....
