Title: Stroll 2017 Williams F1 driver?
Post by: John S on September 26, 2016, 07:55:43 PM
Lance Stroll has signed contract for F1 debut at Williams in 2017.

That's the claim of Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat, adding that the probability that the teenage Canadian's teammate will be Valtteri Bottas is "high".

The report adds - Stroll, the European F3 leader whose father is the fashion mogul Lawrence Stroll, is bringing no less than $35 million a year to the Grove team.

Seems there are talented drivers with financial muscle out there. No doubt if it all goes tits up on the F1 grid for Lance he'll be referred to as a just another pay driver. ;)

Not sure if having a first name like Lance is a curse or a charm.

As a fellow Canadian I am obliged to wish him well.   :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Either Williams needs to vastly improve their car, or Bottas needs to move on. He's becoming irrelevant.

As it happens, there's a rumour going round that Valterri might be voluntarily going to Renault. Would be a surprise if it happens, though.
