Title: Close Encounter
Post by: Willy on May 09, 2008, 08:21:27 PM
Not an F1 race experience as say but...
I was driving past our local Bridgestone tire dealer yesterday and saw two race cars parked out front. I had to stop, and my 9 yr old son and I got out to get a closer look. There was Sebastian Bourdais' 2004 Newman/Hass Champ Car and Ferrari's 2000 F1-2002 that Schumacher drove.

These are travelling around as a Bridgestone promotion. The guy in charge says thay have about 10 of these units travelling around the US. Each one has some variation of cars.

There was also an F1 Simulator that let you try to drive with 10 simulated cars two laps around Donnington Park. We were very thrilled to get to see the cars up close and try out the simulator that you would normally have to line up for at a race track. My son and I both tried it out and with the engine noise rumbling from the speaker jambed into the seat back, it was a very real experience.

Very cool experience for little backwater Nova Scotia.

Wow! What a great surprise for you and your son. I'm happy when I see a team truck driving along!  :good:

Yes we did.
I have not had the good fortune to make it to an F1 race live yet so this was the next best thing.
