Good one Darrell. It's funny how in Indycar they call
a 8.8 second pit stop fast

Well, it's all relative. personally I think F1 allows far too many people working on the car. It would be more interesting with a smaller crew that took a bit longer so there was more difference between a great stop and a not so good one.

Me too.  Maybe 6 guys or so.

Minardi didn't have the best of times in the pit lane at all in 1998.  They had a lot of slow stops.  Their strategy and pit stops improved markedly following the 1998 fiasco.

I think it also signifies how far the smaller teams (Caterham, Marussia and to certain extent the recently demised HRT) has come since then.

In the video it clearly signifies the lack of co-ordination for sure, but its also one fun thing to watch for sure  :DD :DD :DD

All the teams improved massively in their pit stops before the current newer teams joined.  A good example of the midfield, and small teams, outdoing the big guns on strategy, and pit stops, was the 1999 Nurburgring race, where it was McLaren, and Ferrari, who made all the mistakes.

Yes I agree they have improved massively, but applause should be given to the new teams who were to fit in the shoe from the moment go. Though there is an increasing criticism that after being 3 year in the business they are yet to score a point, and HRT succumbing to credit debacle may also point out their inappropriate financial management, still from the technical point of view I guess they must be congratulated after 3 years in the game.
