So the rumour mill says that the deal has been done. Perez out; Vettel in.
I am not a fan of either so, if true, this doesn't bother me. However, if I understand the situation correctly, Perez brings a huge amount of sponsorship and I didn't think Vettel had any major sponsors. This would therefore suggest that Stroll senior really rates Vettel and is prepared to dig deep to have him in the team!

It shows blood is thicker than brain if Daddy
Stroll would retain his no talent son over Perez.I
was hoping Perez would have went to Ferrari
-
The rumours are Perez is out.... but if Stroll is a team owner with shareholders and a bottom line to watch out for, and not just buying a seat for his son*, is it possible Lance's time is done?
*I'm not saying Lance doesn't belong in F1 on merit, but he's not objectively a better choice than Perez.

If this rumour turns out to be true, and I'm a long way from convinced, maybe Checco's backers have decided to turn away from F1.
It's probably the only scenario I can see for Stroll tearing up a driver contract that brings fairly good reliable income to RP.
Also if it's true Perez has been booted out he may well feel very sore after being encouraged to kick off the administration process at FIF1 enabling Stroll to take charge.

I think the rumour is rubbish and that Aston Martin's lineup will be identical to Racing Point's now. Otmar's already told Channel 4 that the lineup will continue, and given the three drivers' respective performances, that would make sense even if all three of them were out of contract at the end of this year (and one of them isn't).

I hope Ali is right. I like to see Perez drive even more than Vettel of late.
-
ESPN Mexico are continuing to fuel the rumour. They say Perez was aware of the deal with Vettel and that his agent Julian Jacobi has already been talking to other teams.
I agree it sounds ludicrous but no less ludicrous than Lawrence Stoll buying the ailing Aston Martin business!
-
If that's right Monty I can only see Sauber or Haas having a seat for sale next term. Unless Checo's Mexican backers fancy a Williams buyout. ;)
-
Williams is going to take the same drivers next year, so not them.

Reports on several sites:-
Sergio Perez has already been “contacted” by other F1 teams after speculation intensified that he could be replaced by Sebastian Vettel at Aston Martin in 2021.
-
Just a hunch but I'm thinking replacing
Kimi
-
Must be Alfa or Haas??
-
Maybe AlphaTauri to line up for a possible mid season swap to Albon's seat at RBR?
